Harry is the “father of the Magalies Monster”. Since the founder of the race route, Harry’s son Karl, moved to Canada, Harry has taken over the mantle. His relationship with local landowners, as well as his creativity on the route, ensures every MTB’er will have a very special experience.

Spook Groenewald

Spook is renowned in SA for the international experience he brings to the organizing team of any SA MTB event. In demand around the world, the Magalies Monster is very lucky to have the expertise of Johan ”Spook” Groenewalt on 2010. Together with Hendrico Burger they form the most formidable MTB route management team in SA.


Erica Green Groenewald

Erica will handle allentries and entry administration. Apart from a fantastic career as anOlympic cyclist, Erica has worldwide experience working on big sportingevents.

As Race Director for all Stillwater’s events, Dezroy is one of the most accomplished and experienced lifestyle event directors in SA. Whether it’s a running event with 8000 ladies, the XTERRA series or the Totalsports Challenge, Dezroy has shown that he understands how to deliver for the entrant, the sponsor as well as local authorities. “For me it’s about working with the authorities to ensure the entrant and sponsor have the great experience.

John Vosloo- Minister of the NG Church Marikana

John Vosloo is for the past 17 years minister of the congregation of the NG Church Marikana. After working at ISCOR for 16 years he started his studies at UNISA and later at UP. He has a passion for people and nature.

The NG Church Marikana under the leadership of Rev John Vosloo started the Magaliesberg Sitrusfees in 1997. The aim was to gain funds for the uplifting of th coomunity and to maintain the congregation with an ever decreasing population due to the expansion of the platinum mines. It was also intended to create a platform where the community could mingle with each other and just relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the majestic Magalies mountains.

From a humble beginning of 1000 attendants it increased to one of the most popular festivals in the area, attracting 15000 people in 2009. This is a festival from which the whole community benefit.
